Maloney must return tainted funds

Wednesday, May 16, 2018 (Goshen, NY) — Today, James D. O’Donnell released the following statement in response to reports that Crystal Run Healthcare is under investigation by the U.S. Attorney’s office for making over $400,000 in campaign donations to Governor Cuomo in exchange for $25 million in economic development funds:

“New York State government is the most corrupt state government in the nation. With the conviction of Governor Cuomo’s top aide Joe Percoco and multiple corruption trials continuing around the state, the pay-to-play culture of state government has been exposed in full. Now with new reports emerging about a federal investigation into Crystal Run Healthcare’s campaign donations to Governor Cuomo in exchange for state Economic Development funds, we must have zero tolerance for business as usual,” O’Donnell declared.

“As such, I’m calling on Sean Maloney to return the over $50,000 in tainted campaign donations he has received from Crystal Run Healthcare over the past 6 years, including just last month. Since Maloney fancies himself the next Attorney General, he can make a strong statement about cleaning up New York State government by returning the money immediately. These donations would have been better served giving raises to the hardworking employees than lining the pockets of corrupt politicians.”
